About this Nominee

Glen Oaks Swim & Tennis Club has been a part of the Carmichael community since 1956, and this year we are proud to celebrate our 70th anniversary! We are a member-owned swim and tennis club where generations of families have grown up swimming, playing, competing, and making memories together.

Our club offers something for everyone, including a large six-lane pool with starting blocks, a smaller shallow pool, four pickleball courts, two tennis courts, a basketball court, a workout area, and a playground. We are also home to the Glen Oaks Sea Lions Swim Team, which competes in the top division in the area. Our swim coaches are a huge part of what makes our team special. Many have coached at Glen Oaks for years or grew up swimming here themselves, and they have become role models for our younger swimmers. Our swimmers truly look up to them, and they teach much more than just swimming—they help build confidence, teamwork, and a love for the sport.

Our summer programs give kids a place to be active, learn new things, and spend lots of time in the water. Our summer camp features a different theme each week, with games, sports, arts and crafts, and plenty of swimming. One of the biggest highlights this year was Jr. Lifeguard Week when our lifeguards taught campers about water safety and led them through rescue drills. We also offer a weekly Kids Night Out during the summer, with activities like slip-and-slide and tie-dye nights.

After 70 years, Glen Oaks is still a place where kids can spend their time, families can stay active, and lifelong friendships are made. We are proud to be a member-owned club that has remained a part of the Carmichael community for generations, and we are grateful to everyone who continues to make Glen Oaks such a special place.
