Nominee "Wilhaggin-Del Dayo Neighborhood Association" - 2023 Best of Carmichael

Wilhaggin-Del Dayo Neighborhood Association

About this Nominee

The Wilhaggin Del-Dayo neighborhood flanks Sacramento’s beautiful American River and spans the area south of Fair Oaks Boulevard roughly between Watt Avenue and Arden Way.

Our neighborhood features wide, tree-lined streets, a diversity of long-established custom homes and multiple access points to the wild beauty of the American River Parkway. We enjoy gourmet dining in nearby restaurants and personalized service at an array of local quality retailers. Our children are served by three highly-rated schools: Rio Americano High School, Del Dayo Elementary School and Jesuit High School.

Beyond those amenities, our neighborhood is safe in large part thanks to our Wilhaggin Del Dayo Neighborhood Association. Founded in 2006 by a small group of homeowners, WDDNA is a nonprofit organization whose purpose is to contract with the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department to provide off-duty deputies in marked vehicles to patrol our streets. The association also provides regular localized safety and security information to its members and works with local public officials to deal with traffic and safety issues when they arise.

The association has proven its value and grown over the years. It now is supported by more than 1,000 dues-paying member households. As a result, our area is rated among the safest in the county.

It is no surprise that homes in our neighborhood are often held in families for decades and are highly prized by home buyers. Because of all these factors, we believe the Wilhaggin Del Dayo neighborhood should be named the 2023 Best Neighborhood in Carmichael.
